Causes of wind

Warm up: Students observed an image which showed two bottles. One with an inflated balloon on top and one with a deflated balloon on top. Describe the difference between the air in the two bottles, making sure to include temperature, and density.
Answer: The bottle with the inflated balloon has hot air, which is less dense and takes up more space, the deflated balloon has cold air which is denser and takes up less space.

  • Homework: Bring in a coffee can with your name on it. Bring extras if you can spare! (This is for a project we are doing after spring break) mini-assessment on Skill 1 Tomorrow.

EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY - COYOTE HOWL

For Coyote howl all the 6th grade science teachers are working together to turn our hallway into a Geologic Timeline!
Students can earn 20pts of extra credit for getting involved - and there are lots of ways!

We need:

- Helpers at the craft tables
- Tour Guides
-Helpers with set up and break down
-Designers and Crafters for our classroom Paleozoic decor!

Watch for a sheet coming home with students tomorrow to sign up for specific events. Families can also help by bringing in snacks and donating craft supplies!
We're all really excited for what's coming up this year, we're going to host a great event!
