ROCK CYCLE PROCESSES COMMERCIAL

• Vote on Logos for Cover of Modern Mineral Discoveries
• Review Venn Diagrams
• Students work with their tables to create a commercial: Each are assigned a rock cycle process ( cooling, melting, weathering & erosion, etc) they are to create a commercial that convinces their rock constituencies why they should go with the process they are advertising. The commercial must include scientific data that informs the class on how these processes occur and under what circumstances.

Modern Mineral Logo Contest

Students are invited to join the Modern Mineral Discoveries logo contest.

We are looking to fill the oval in the center of the cover with a logo or symbol that would represent the magazine.











How to Enter:

1. Obtain a form from Ms. B
2. Come up with an original design (may be any media, as long as its your own - and it fits in the space provided)
3. Turn it in on Thursday, December 13th.

Classes will vote for the winner on Friday, December 14th.

REMEMBER: To make your logo eligible, try and make it fit the cover of the magazine. Also, make sure that it is relevant. Keep in mind that this is a MINERAL magazine, and that it is for KMS students. The winner will most likely be the one that fits the majority of these criteria.

This is not an extra credit assignment. This is purely optional, and just for fun!

• Bring 3-D paper crystals to class, we'll use them in our mineral identification lab
• Quiz Tomorrow, on crystal structure notes. There will be a meeting today for after school studying from 3:30 - 4:00; MsBoyagian will be on AIM between the hours of 6-8 PM tonight to answer questions.
  
• Ms. B is looking for a venue for cheap color copy printing for her Modern Mineral Discovery Magazine. If anyone has an idea where she can get that, let her know!
• Make sure you record your study time, and have your parents sign it! You will get 5 pts. for every half-hour of study time that has been signed off, up to 50 points worth!
• Regional Science Fair Winners: Make sure that you have the regional science fair paperwork by December 13
